Hi! My name is Christine Uhrlass and I am excited to be your Band Booster President.
This will be my 7 year as a Band Mom and I cannot share how much of an amazing journey it has been with my children and myself. My oldest daughter, Emma is presently attending UNC Chapel Hill as a Junior after completing 4 years in the Marching Band as a percussionist. My son, Sam is a Junior playing both Tenor & Bari saxophone. Both of my kids have been involved with Marching Band, Class Bands, Winter Percussion, & Jazz ensemble.
When not involved with the Band Boosters I enjoy traveling, baking, gardening & being a preschool teacher.
My best advise to any new parents is try not to get to overwhelmed. It can seem like a lot at first for both you and your student, but the lessons your child will learn will serve them well beyond their years in band. If you ever have questions, ask a vet parent! We have all been new once. Enjoy you new endeavor as a Band Parent and welcome!

Secretary - Lisa Christensen Contact Our Secretary
Hi, I'm Lisa Christensen, and will serve as secretary for the next two years. I am originally from Ohio, but have been in NC most of my life. My husband is also a mid-Westerner.
During the day, I'm a recruiter for a market research company. On evenings/weekends, I get a thrill every time our band steps onto the field, band plays a concert, or the school's chorus sings.
My son, Will, plays clarinet and is a rising sophomore. My daughter is part of the 2020 graduating class, her voice her instrument of choice.
I am a total plant geek, enjoy making greeting cards and other fun things out of paper, and love music in many forms. I'm looking forward to meeting you, and helping in whatever way I can!
Treasurer - Mark Baker Contact Our Treasurer
Hi, my name is Mark Baker and I will be serving as Treasurer of the Band Boosters for the 2020-21 school year. This is my fourth year being involved with the band program and my second year on the Board of Directors. My wife Amy and I have two children, who both participate in the band program: Ben (11th grade, 4th year in the Marching Band and WPE) and Emma (9th grade, 3rd year in the Marching Band and WPE). They have both enjoyed music from an early age and have been taking piano lessons since they were in the 1st grade.
Currently, Ben plays in the Front Ensemble and Emma plays the flute.
Amy and I grew up in small towns near Winston-Salem, we currently live in Oak Ridge and I work as a tax accountant in Greensboro. Outside of family, work and band, I love to watch college basketball and NFL football. In addition, I have volunteered at the Wyndham Championship, the local PGA tournament, for 20 years and have served various roles on the Board of Directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Central Piedmont since 1997.
I am excited to be a part of the Band Boosters and I look forward to seeing you at the next band event.

Budget Director - Jon Goldin Contact Our Budget Director
My name is Jon Goldin and I am serving as your Budget Director of the Band Boosters for the 2020-2021 school year. This is my fourth year as a band parent where I worked with the Props Team and this is my first year being a member on the Board of Directors. My wife Jenn and I have two children, both members of the Color Guard in Marching Band and Winter Color Guard. Both children play instruments for the Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band. They are passionate about being a part of the band and the extended family that we have gained.
We moved from Long Island, New York to the Greensboro area 14 years ago. It has been the best decision we have made! I am currently working at Arch MI as the Director of Accounting & Financial Systems and along with my experience in public accounting, look to serve our Board and Community. My passions outside of Family and work are studying Tae Kwon Do with my son, and challenging myself with weight training, Spartan races, and MMA.
Hello, my name is Lydia Kirkman and I am excited to serve the band as co-chair of Ways and Means. I am beginning my fourth year as a proud member of the Viking Band family. While we live in High Point, we are very much an active part of the NW community.
I am a recent retiree of the NWMS faculty for 16 years and my husband, Jay, plays an integral role in the props department. Our son, Ben, plays the baritone in the Marching Band and trombone in both the Jazz and Symphonic class bands.
I am eager to serve along side you for the next two years as we work together to make our band the “best in the land”!

Competition Support - Heather Tucker Contact Competition Support
Hello, my name is Heather Tucker. I grew up in Memphis, TN. There I developed my love of all things marching band. I played clarinet, spun with the color guard, was drum major and an instructor. I attended UT-Knoxville for 2 years before transferring to UNC-Chapel Hill for pharmacy school.
My husband, Thad, and I have 2 daughters, Conner who played clarinet and former Drum Major, and Peyton, rising 10th grader plays flute and is in color guard.
Following in my parents' footsteps, I became an active band booster 5 years ago. This program is amazing. My kids have learned a lot about responsibility, teamwork, and dedication and had fun along the way. I look forward to serving as the Volunteer Coordinator this year. I encourage all family members to take every opportunity to volunteer. It takes a small army behind the scenes to help our kids have a successful season. Please do not hesitate to ask if there is something I can do to help you.
Logistics Director - Harry Keller Contact Our Logistics Chairperson
Hello, my name is Harry Keller and I'm happy to serve as the Logistics Director for the 2020-2021 Viking Band. I am originally from Pennsylvania, and our family moved to North Carolina in 2009. I work as an engineer at Volvo Trucks. Erica and I have a family full of "band kids", my daughter Maya is a senior and plays clarinet, and Eden will be in her 2nd year playing the saxophone with the Viking Bands. Owen has started playing trumpet and will be at NW Middle School in the fall. I have been involved with the band program since 2017 by helping with props, pit, and driving equipment trucks. In my free time, I enjoy woodworking and riding mountain bikes.
I have been playing percussion since I was 10, and have been involved in as many band activities as I could throughout high school. I was a member of the Penn State Blue Band for 4 years, and have also performed with the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps and the Emmaus Sentinels Alumni Corps. Seeing my children performing and growing with music has been a very rewarding experience, and I am very thankful that they are part of the NW Guilford program!
