Jerry Goodnight is a National Board Certified, national-award winning Social Studies teacher originally from Salisbury, North Carolina. A teacher by trade, but a trumpet player by choice, he has experience at all levels of the marching arts, as both a performer and educator. He marched with the 2012 Carolina Crown, and was a member and trumpet section leader for the WCU Pride of the Mountains Marching Band from 2010 - 2013, as well as serving as the Principal Trumpet for multiple concert and jazz ensembles.

 

Additionally, he is the owner of Goodnight Visual Designs, a  Program Coordination and Visual Design company that provides all levels of services for marching ensembles throughout the country. As an instructor, he has previously served on the instructional staff for Music City Drum Corps and multiple high schools, most recently as the Assistant Band Director, Program Coordinator, Brass Caption Head and Visual Designer for the Jay M. Robinson High School "Pride of Robinson". Currently, he serves on the instructional staff for Carolina Crown, and is excited to begin his first year with the team at Northwest Guilford in 2025!
