Alex Perez has been involved in the Marching Arts for over 18 years. At age 16, he joined the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps as a member of the Contra line. He was also a member of Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps where he was part of the Color Guard.  He returned to Boston to age out of the Color Guard in 2004. After aging out, he then joined the creative and instructional teams of Magic of Orlando Drum and Bugle Corps and Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps. He spent the last 7 years with The Cadets and rejoined the staff of Santa Clara Vanguard this past season.​ 

 

In addition to his extensive experience in the drum corps activity, Alex has had a successful career in the Winter Guard arena. Starting as a performing member with Braddock Independent World Guard for 8 years and is currently on their instructional staff. He has designed for such groups as Cypress Bay HS (FL), Summerville HS (SC), Somerset HS (FL), West Johnson HS (NC), Miami Coral Park HS (FL), St. Joseph HS (Malaysia), Braddock Independent World (FL), Black Gold Independent (TX), Salem Blue (MA) and Stoneman Douglas HS (FL).​Alex has had some amazing opportunities due to his involvement in the marching arts.  He was a performing member of the Micro Magic Japan touring cast in 2001 and was the lead designer for the St. Joseph HS Marching Band in Kuching Malaysia, who was recently crowned the 2015 US Bands Yamaha Cup Grand Champion.
